3 febbraio 2024 – Scheme Guidelines for Pilot Projects for the Use of Hydrogen in the Steel Manufacturing Sector under the National Green Hydrogen Mission have been released by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. 📍 Deployment in Steel Manufacturing Operations: Initiate pilot projects to integrate Green Hydrogen in steel production processes, addressing practical challenges and infrastructure requirements for hydrogen use in reduction and other processes.
📍 Technical Feasibility & Performance: Test and validate the real-world performance and technical feasibility of Green Hydrogen in steel manufacturing, focusing on its role in reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency.
📍 Economic Viability Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the costs and potential savings associated with adopting Green Hydrogen in the steel industry, considering factors like production efficiency, energy consumption, and carbon pricing.
📍 Operational Effectiveness in Steel Manufacturing: Assess the integration and effectiveness of Green Hydrogen in various stages of steel production, from iron ore reduction to the final rolling processes.
📍 Performance Evaluation & Improvement: Monitor and enhance the performance of hydrogen-based systems in steel manufacturing, pinpointing and addressing any areas needing improvement, particularly in terms of energy efficiency and emission reduction.
