✅ Hydrogen Production Methods
I have updated my hydrogen production methods based on your feedback. Thank you.

I’ve covered Hydrogen Production Methods 1-3 and will discuss the rest in future posts.

1) Steam Methane Reforming (SMR):
SMR is a process that produces hydrogen gas (H2) by reacting methane (CH4) with high-temperature steam under pressure.

2) Coal/ Biomass Gasification:
Coal and biomass undergo high-temperature reactions with oxygen and steam to form a gas mixture containing H2, CO, and CO2.

3) Partial Oxidation:
Partial oxidation uses oxygen instead of steam to produce a mixture of CO and H2 from natural gas.

4) Autothermal Reforming (ATR):
ATR combines SMR and PO processes using heat from partial oxidation to power the reforming process.

5) Thermochemical Water Splitting (TCWS):
Thermochemical water splitting generates hydrogen and oxygen through high-temperature, heat-driven chemical reactions.

6) Methane pyrolysis:
Pyrolysis is decomposing organic matter at high temperatures without oxygen, producing hydrogen, gases, and compounds.

7) Direct air electrolysis (DAE):
Hydrogen can be produced from air using hygroscopic electrolytes for in-situ moisture capture.

8) Natural hydrogen (H2):
Natural hydrogen is not a fossil resource but is produced within Earth.

9) Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS):
CCUS lowers H2 production emissions, leading to low-carbon H2.

10) Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM):
PEM uses a solid acidic electrolyte membrane.

11) Alkaline Hydrogen Electrolyzer (AL):
Two electrodes are put in an alkaline solution like KOH or NaOH in AL.
